Warranty
Honu Ukuleles warrants solely to the original purchaser that the instrument purchased shall be free from defects in workmanship and materials and shall function for a period of two (2) years from the date of purchase.
This limited warranty does not cover repairs necessitated by normal wear and tear, accidental damage, natural disaster, exposure to extremes of temperature and/or humidity, abuse or neglect. Nor does it cover tuning machines, transducer/pickups, cases or strings. These are warranted by the original manufacturer.
Honu Ukuleles are handcrafted solid wood ukuleles and are constructed of woods that have been very carefully dried and seasoned before being cut and planed to their present thickness. The wood is naturally hygroscopic, meaning that it will soak up moisture in humid climates and lose moisture under dry conditions. In very hot or cold temperatures or any time relative humidity falls below 40% (common in mountain & desert climates and in heated homes and apartments), your ukulele will dry out and the wood can warp or crack. This is considered serious damage and is not covered by the warranty. It can, however, be easily prevented by keeping your instrument in its hard case and using a good quality humidifier.
Periodic maintenance and care is the responsibility of the owner and is a condition of warranty. Any alterations to the instrument will void warranty. Use of higher tension strings other than those recommended by Honu Ukuleles may void warranty. Use of incorrectly scaled strings may void the warranty.
